By some standards I am old, but by others I am young. I was born in Ontario, California in 1947. I grew up loving to rambunctiously ride my bicycle around the neighborhood, playing very sophisticated games of hide-and-seek, climbing our neighbors trees, and running barefooted most of the summer. I have loved living in California (South & North), Puerto Rico, Montana, Michigan, and Washington. Jane and I have been married since 1969. We have three daughters and two grandchildren. We also now have a Golden Retriever puppy named Poppy. I love to travel, but have way more of the world to visit than I have time or money. Living in Port Townsend, Washington is an absolute treat. I love our quaint Victorian town and the many music, food, and art venues. I am extremely passionate about fishing. I enjoy saltwater fishing for salmon and crab. However, fly-fishing for trout in fresh water is my greatest passion. In fact, I have been a fly-fishing guide for about 20 years in California and Washington.

However, the majority of we Americans deal with anxiety either in ineffective ways or get hooked on powerful and addictive medications/substances. Once hooked, Dealing With Anxiety…Naturally

Q: You may not believe this but I am a 45-year-old virgin…well sort of. I have been married eight years now and have never had an organism during intercourse. We have three children. Mindfulness: Two Main Branches of Meditation

#1       Concentration Practice (sometimes called Samadhi) This is where most people begin their meditation practice. Here we practice focusing our attention on something neutral (i.e., our breath, sound/mantra, candle flame, etc.) We assume the so-called “regal posture” meaning not slouching or lying down. Our goal is NOT to fall asleep but to learn how Mindfulness: Two Main Branches of Meditation

On Becoming A Quitter…Or Not: Part 2

Perhaps the reason I was never given the opportunity to get on the football field in high school was because I had no talent. I don’t know how any coach would know that, since I was never allowed to try, but it was certainly one explanation. However, I had suspicions that it may have been On Becoming A Quitter…Or Not: Part 2
