Tim Berry

By some standards I am old, but by others I am young. I was born in Ontario, California in 1947. I grew up loving to rambunctiously ride my bicycle around the neighborhood, playing very sophisticated games of hide-and-seek, climbing our neighbors trees, and running barefooted most of the summer. I have loved living in California (South & North), Puerto Rico, Montana, Michigan, and Washington. Jane and I have been married since 1969. We have three daughters and two grandchildren. We also now have a Golden Retriever puppy named Poppy. I love to travel, but have way more of the world to visit than I have time or money. Living in Port Townsend, Washington is an absolute treat. I love our quaint Victorian town and the many music, food, and art venues. I am extremely passionate about fishing. I enjoy saltwater fishing for salmon and crab. However, fly-fishing for trout in fresh water is my greatest passion. In fact, I have been a fly-fishing guide for about 20 years in California and Washington.

Two Important Words

The 1st Word On “that” beautiful mid-July afternoon, I was finishing my salad at lunchtime, looking over emails, and waiting to see my next patient when the phone rang. In my typically rather positive phone voice I answer, “Good afternoon, Dr. Berry speaking”. My urologist, Alan Kowitz, was on the other end of the line. Two Important Words

Ask Dr. Tim: I realize I am Pretty perfectionistic…

Q: I realize that I am pretty perfectionistic…as was my mother, and her mother. Is this genetic? Cathy A: Since I am not a geneticist I am unaware of an exact “perfectionism gene”…but it actually would not surprise me. It would certainly be appropriate to consider perfectionism as a “trait”. While traits can be transferred Ask Dr. Tim: I realize I am Pretty perfectionistic…

Confluence of the River

I am standing in cold knee-deep water. While I am easily able to maintain my balance, the flow of the river is ever pressing to topple me over and sweep me down stream. My fly rod is positioned securely under my right armpit. I am holding the tippet of the 9 foot tapered leader in Confluence of the River
